Fruit purée gives this daiquiri body, so it slushes into a thick, spoonable drink with a modest amount of rum.

Ingredients

  • 150 ml white rum (37.5% ABV)
  • 400 ml strawberry purée (blended and sieved strawberries)
  • 100 ml lime juice
  • 200 ml sugar syrup (120 g sugar and 120 ml water)
  • 600 ml cold water

Allergens to watch: None of the 14 regulated allergens. Always check the labels of the brands you use.

Method

  1. Blend and sieve the strawberries.
  2. Mix with the rum, lime juice, cooled sugar syrup and water.
  3. Chill, then pour into the machine below the maximum fill line.
  4. Run the Frozen Cocktail setting.
  5. Serve in small glasses.

Sugar check

120 g of sugar in about 1,450 ml is roughly 8.3 g per 100 ml, plus the strawberries’ own sugar.

Check your own mix in the sugar & units calculator.

The mixed batch is roughly 3.9% ABV (56 ml of pure alcohol in about 1.45 litres) — inside the 2.8–16% range Ninja gives for the original SLUSHi (FS301UK) cocktail setting.

Spirits and liqueurs vary: if the bottle you use has a different ABV, the units change. Our serving size is 242 ml; a bigger glass means more units.
