Rosé is one of the examples Ninja gives for its cocktail setting. Most rosé is dry, so it needs sugar added to slush properly — and the wine is diluted a little, which keeps the strength sensible.

Ingredients

  • 750 ml rosé wine (12% ABV)
  • 160 ml sugar syrup (100 g sugar dissolved in 100 ml hot water, cooled)
  • 150 ml strawberry purée (blended and sieved strawberries)
  • 300 ml cold water

Allergens to watch: Sulphites (wine). Always check the labels of the brands you use.

Method

  1. Make the sugar syrup and let it cool completely.
  2. Mix the wine, syrup, strawberry purée and water.
  3. Chill, then pour into the machine below the maximum fill line.
  4. Run the Frozen Cocktail setting (Wine on the Tower; Frosé on the Cuisinart).
  5. Serve in small glasses.

Sugar check

100 g of added sugar in about 1,360 ml is roughly 7.4 g per 100 ml, plus a little from the strawberries.

Check your own mix in the sugar & units calculator.

The mixed batch is roughly 6.6% ABV (90 ml of pure alcohol in about 1.36 litres) — inside the 2.8–16% range Ninja gives for the original SLUSHi (FS301UK) cocktail setting.

Spirits and liqueurs vary: if the bottle you use has a different ABV, the units change. Our serving size is 227 ml; a bigger glass means more units.
