Sugar & units calculator
Check a batch before it goes in the machine. Enter each liquid’s volume and the “sugars per 100 ml” figure from its label (and the ABV for anything alcoholic). It works out the sugar level of the whole mix, the mixed strength and the UK units.
Result
Enter at least one volume to see the result. Example: 1,500 ml of lemonade with 5 g sugars per 100 ml plus 200 ml of 37.5% vodka.
How the sums work
- Sugar % = total grams of sugar ÷ total ml × 100. Ninja says everything you pour into its SLUSHi machines must contain at least 4% sugar.
- UK units = ABV (%) × volume (ml) ÷ 1,000 — the formula the NHS uses.
- Mixed strength = ml of pure alcohol ÷ total ml × 100. Ninja gives 2.8–16% for the original SLUSHi’s cocktail setting and up to 20% for the XL, MAX and Twist.
