Margarita is one of Ninja’s own examples for the cocktail setting. A bar margarita is far too strong to freeze in a home machine, so this batch is diluted with water and sugar syrup — that is what lets it slush.
Allergens to watch: None of the 14 regulated allergens in the basic recipe — check liqueur labels. Always check the labels of the brands you use.
120 g of sugar in about 1,325 ml is roughly 9.1 g per 100 ml, plus the sugar in the orange liqueur.
UK units = ABV (%) × volume (ml) ÷ 1,000 (the NHS formula)
| Ingredient | Sum | Units |
|---|---|---|
| tequila | 40 × 150 ÷ 1,000 | 6 |
| orange liqueur (triple sec) | 40 × 75 ÷ 1,000 | 3 |
| Whole batch | 9 | |
| Per serving (6 servings) | 1.5 |
The mixed batch is roughly 6.8% ABV (90 ml of pure alcohol in about 1.33 litres) — inside the 2.8–16% range Ninja gives for the original SLUSHi (FS301UK) cocktail setting.
Spirits and liqueurs vary: if the bottle you use has a different ABV, the units change. Our serving size is 221 ml; a bigger glass means more units.
