A frappé is creamier than a slush because of the milk. Dairy changes the rules a little: Ninja’s “frozen for up to 12 hours” claim is for recipes without dairy, so serve this one promptly.

Ingredients

  • 600 ml strong coffee, cooled
  • 900 ml whole or semi-skimmed milk
  • 120 g caster sugar

Allergens to watch: Milk. Always check the labels of the brands you use.

Method

  1. Dissolve the sugar in the hot coffee, then let it cool completely.
  2. Stir in the milk and chill in the fridge.
  3. Pour into the machine below the maximum fill line.
  4. Run the Frappé setting (Milkshake or Frappe on other machines).
  5. Serve straight away, and clean the vessel soon after.

Sugar check

120 g of sugar in 1,500 ml is 8 g per 100 ml from the added sugar, plus the milk’s own sugar.

Check your own mix in the sugar & units calculator.
